How to write it, step by step
- Join the letters without lifting your pencil: b, e, l, i, e, v and e.
- Watch the high joins (be and ve): after b, o, v or w, the next letter starts at the midline, not the baseline.
- When the word is finished, go back to dot the i.

Tips for each letter
- b
- Dropping the ending to the baseline. b ends high, at the midline, so the next letter starts from there.
- e
- Making the loop too big, so e looks like l. The loop stays below the midline.
- l
- Making the loop so thin it disappears, so l looks like a tall i without a dot. Keep the loop open.
- i
- Stopping to dot the i in the middle of a word. Finish the word first, then dot.
- v
- Dropping the ending to the baseline. v ends high, at the midline.
