How to use this set

  1. Go in order: lines, curves, zigzags, circles, squares, triangles.
  2. Keep sessions short, 5 to 10 minutes, and stop while it is still fun.
  3. Use a thick crayon or a short pencil, which is easier for small hands to grip.

Questions parents ask

When can my child start tracing?

Most children can follow big lines and shapes from about age 2 and a half to 3. Letters usually come after age 3.

My child can’t stay on the dots. Is that OK?

Yes. At this age the goal is moving the right way, from top to bottom and left to right. Accuracy comes with practice.
