Questions parents ask
What words have the letter X?
Very few words start with x, and the ones that do (like xylophone) are hard to read. Children practise x at the end of short words: box, fox, six.
Which letters are written like x?
Slanted letters (v w x y z k) are made the same way. They are made of slanted lines, so the pencil moves corner to corner. Practising them together helps the movement become automatic.
What age is letter X tracing for?
Most children trace capital letters from about age 3 and lowercase letters from about 4. If the big sheets are easy, move on to the mixed sheet with smaller letters.
